Hot Air Balloon Project
Each student brought home a hot air balloon to decorate with anything that helps your child reflect their cultural and ethnic heritage. The hot air balloons will be hung in the hallways to reflect our community.
You can use, crayons, markers, construction paper, fabric, pictures, you can use pretty much anything! When you are done decorating, cut out the hot air balloon and return no later than Nov 21st.
Parents, please assist your children. Be sure to label your hot air balloon with your name and your teacher’s name on the back. Here are some samples:

International Day Important Dates:
October 5 9AM -10AM Cafeteria International Day Volunteer Meeting Meeting for all volunteers and anyone interested in finding out more October 18 Team Members and Presentation Proposals Due Team Leader - Please email mpsinternationalday@gmail.com: team leader contact info, team members, any special scheduling requests, proposed activity, and materials/ space requirements. November 1 Deadline to submit Power Point presentation and any videos Submit your Power Point presentation and any videos on a flash drive clearly marked with your country and name. There will be a drop of bin in the main office. November 19 International Day Tech. Tutorial Tech tutorial with Mrs. Delmonico to review how to use classroom technology including SmartBoards, projectors, laptops, etc. November 20 Deadline to submit artifact/ memento for display case Submit an artifact/ memento from your country marked with your country and name. Drop off in main office. Secretaries will have a table available. December 6 - after 3:30PM Classroom Set Up You are permitted into your assigned classroom to set up. Please take “before” pictures of the classroom, so that you can leave it as you found it at the close of the day. Please be respectful of the space and the teacher’s desk. December 7 by 8:30 AM INTERNATIONAL DAY!! You may arrive as early as 7AM. Please check in at the welcome desk. Your room should be ready by 8:30AM. December 7 - 8AM - 10:00AM All volunteers are invited to stop in for breakfast. You may stop in before the day begins or when you have a break. At around 10AM, the breakfast will be moved into the main office. Please stop in to refuel and relax for a few minutes when you have a chance. December 7 @5:30 PM(come early to set up at 4:30/5PM) Taste of the Nations All countries will be set up in the cafeteria. Your assigned table will have a white tablecloth and your country flag on it. December 10 Please pick up your artifact/ memento from main office. HAVE FUN! |
